Kendall-Grundy Community Action
Community Action provides services that encourage self-sufficiency while recognizing the need for personalized, direct services for residents facing poverty or crisis.
Services available to residents include:
- Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
- Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program (IHWAP)
- Information & Referral
- Homeless Prevention
- Scholarships
- Employment Barrier Reduction Program (EBRP)
Information & Referral
Information and Referral Services help connect individuals to the resources they need. Community Action provides information and referrals connecting individuals and families to programs that help alleviate a wide range of challenges.
Homeless Prevention
The Homeless Prevention Program provides rental/mortgage assistance, utility assistance, approved case management, and approved supportive services directly related to the prevention of homelessness to eligible individuals and families located in Kendall County who are in danger of eviction, foreclosure, or homelessness or are currently homeless.

Scholarships
Scholarships are available to assist low-income individuals in continuing their education. Scholarships may be used for tuition and fees, textbooks, supplies, or room and board. Scholarship awards are made directly to the college or university's financial aid office for use by the student as needed.
Successful scholarship recipients must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Resident of Kendall County or Grundy County.
- Member of an income-eligible household.
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or must have graduated by July 1, 2025, from an accredited high school/GED Administering institution.
- Applicants must be accepted into an Illinois college or university, or occupational training program on at least a half-time basis.
- Applicants must identify community involvement.
- The application must be completed entirely.
- Upon receipt of the scholarship, the recipient must participate in the agency's financial literacy component.

Cars for Hope
Cars of Hope, based in Naperville, donates vehicles to those in need of reliable transportation and is always looking for donated vehicles.

All vehicles are accepted, running or not.

Vehicles that are not appropriate for donation are sold, and proceeds from those sales are used to repair other vehicles.
