We all have a role in emergency preparedness. Every person can do something to help make our families and communities safer and better prepared. The Kendall County Health Department is taking necessary steps to prepare and appropriately respond to a variety of family emergencies.
The Health Department is Committed to:
- Planning for Emergencies
- Preparing the Community
- Practicing its Plans
- Protecting its Residents
What is Emergency Preparedness?
Emergency Preparedness is being ready for a disaster or emergency. It is necessary to plan how to respond to various events and to regularly practice those plans. A well-thought-out plan can be used in events such as natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and bioterrorism. A good plan can be used in almost any situation.
Everyone Should Do Their Part
Even a small amount of preparation can make a huge difference in an emergency. The Health Department is doing its part by creating and practicing plans, conducting training, and soliciting volunteers. There are simple basic steps residents can take to do their part.
