Mental Health Juvenile Justice Liaison
What Does the Mental Health Juvenile Justice (MHJJ) Liaison Do?
- The Mental Health Juvenile Justice (MHJJ) Liaison will work with youth and their families to establish a comprehensive engagement plan.
- The plan can include, but is not limited to:
- Mental health services, substance abuse treatment, school tutoring and social services. The MHJJ will work with the Regional Office of Education, schools, and juvenile courts to connect and provide care for youth.
Who Can Be Referred?
- Youth must be under the age of eighteen (18) years old.
- Must in live or go to school in Kendall County and must have at least one of the following needs:
- Mental health, substance use concerns, help through school tutoring, social services to address basic needs.
- Priority will be given to at-risk youth who are not yet involved within the court system.
Who Can Provide a Referral?
Regional Office of Education, caseworkers, directors, and liaisons; school counselors and other staff members; probation officers and court staff are the best fit in referring youth and their families. If you are concerned about your child, please make sure to reach out to their school.
