Non-Community Water Supplies

A transient supply can be defined as a supply that serves a non-community population of 25 or more individuals for at least 60 days per year.

A non-transient supply can be defined as a non-community water system that serves the same 25 or more individuals for at least 6 months a year.

It is the Illinois Department of Public Health's ("IDPH") responsibility to review construction plans and to routinely inspect and sample these supplies. In Kendall County, Environmental Health Services assists in conducting this program as an "agent" of the IDPH.

Non-community public water supplies ("NCWS") are those that serve a non-residential population of 25 or more people at least 60 days a year. The NCWS consists of two categories: transient and non-transient.
