Cooling Centers Available
According to the National Weather Service, dangerous heat with peak heat indices near or over 105 degrees is likely on Saturday and possibly on Sunday for our local area.
During excessive heat, please remember the following:
- Find air conditioning
- Avoid strenuous activities
- Wear light clothing
- Check on family members and neighbors
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Watch for heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke
- Never leave people or pets in a closed car
If you are unable to find air conditioning, cooling centers are available throughout Kendall County. Please call the cooling center first to ensure that the center is able to receive you. Hours and availability are subject to change due to COVID-19. Please wear a mask and maintain a physical distance from others of at least 6 feet when utilizing the public cooling center.
