November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

November 22, 2022

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout the United States and Illinois, lung cancer is the leading cause of death for men and women. In Illinois, the rate of new lung cancer cases is 63 per 100,000 which is higher than the national average of 58 per 100,000. Governor Pritzker signed a proclamation declaring November 2022 as Lung Cancer Awareness Month in Illinois. This proclamation will help raise public awareness and change the public's perception of lung cancer. Please help by sharing about lung cancer risks and symptoms, screening recommendations, and tobacco cessation.
